The Project Thrust Corporate Mentor Program provides first generation in college students guidance for a smooth transition from student to professional life.  Mentors help students develop the skills necessary for success in the corporate world.

The program pairs business majors with a professional at the management level.  Mentors and Mentees (students) meet at least once a month at the Mentor's work location.

Through a combination of contacts with the Tampa Bay business community, academic advising, seminars, and social events, the Corporate Mentor Program serves as a capstone for young professionals finishing their undergraduate business degrees and seeking employment.  Participating corporations in the program include, Raymond James & Associates, Verizon, Coca Cola, TECO, Tampa Port Authority, St. Petersburg Times, and many more area companies.

Statistics speak for the drive and ambition that Corporate Mentor Program mentees exhibit to their mentors.  Since 1997, more than half of all students in the program have graduated and obtained employment through their mentors.  The remaining students in the program continue to complete their degrees.  The Corporate Mentor Program represents a unique prototype of what is right with business and education.  Mentoring is a win-win situation for the university and the community.

Megan Hendricks , Coordinator of the Project Thrust Corporate Mentor Program, constantly reminds people that “LEADERS ARE THE PRODUCT OF MENTORING!” The talented individuals that the corporations will want to hire tomorrow are in our colleges today. Students succeeding in college means success in their careers and in life.
