College of
Business Honors Scholarship Winners |

The College
of Business distributed scholarships to 158 students at the
annual scholarship luncheon on August 24. Nearly $400,000
was distributed through 65 awards.
According to
Robert Forsythe, dean of the College of Business, the
luncheon, a 20-year tradition, provides an opportunity for
the college to thank our donors, alumni, and corporate
partners as well as introduce them to the aspiring business
leaders benefiting from their generosity. “This event is
important to the College of Business because it helps
maintain solid relationships between members of the college
and community leaders,” said Forsythe.
Students networked with the College’s proudest supporters
before crossing the stage to be recognized for individual
scholarships. As the students walked across the stage, their
faces beamed with pride and joy. |

Scholarship recipients were
able to enjoy lunch with representatives from donors and
families providing scholarship programs for the College of
Business. |

Jessica Antiquino, the recipient
of the Camille Lyle Memorial Endowed Scholarship, was
selected as student speaker for the event. In her remarks,
she said the scholarship provided much-appreciated financial
assistance to her and her family. “Growing up, I saw my
parents struggle to provide a comfortable home, food and
necessities for four children. Now, their struggle is my
motivation and this scholarship award is allowing me to
pursue my dreams,” she said. Antiquino also provided her
fellow students with some advice for achieving success. “It
is important to not just dream, be motivated, and to
believe,” she said, encouraging her peers to stay focused.
“Take action! Take steps to make your dreams come true,” she
said.
