New Faculty

Dr. Balaji Padmanabhan is an associate professor in the IS/DS department. He teaches courses in Electronic Commerce and Data Mining at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, courses that are also his area of specialty. Dr. Padmanabhan earned his M. Phil and Ph.D. at New York University and his B. Tech at Indian Institute of Technology in India. Before coming to USF, he taught at The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Padmanabhan enjoys spending time with his wife and children, listening to music, driving, and traveling. Contact him at bpadmana@coba.usf.edu.
 

Dr. Yi Deng is an assistant professor in the economics department. She teaches a course in Intermediate Price Theory this semester and is expected to teach undergraduate and graduate Industrial Organization courses in the future. Dr. Deng’s areas of specialty are industrial organization and technology and innovation. She earned her Ph.D. at Yale University. Dr. Deng previously taught at Southern Methodist University and enjoys reading and swimming in her spare time. Contact her at ydeng@coba.usf.edu.
 

Dr. Min Dong Paul Lee is an assistant professor in the management department, joining USF from Cornell University. He teaches Organizational Assessment and specializes in corporate social responsibility, institutional theory, social movement theory, diffusion of innovations, and business and natural environment. Dr. Lee earned his Ph.D. at Cornell University, M. Div at Regent College, and BA and MA at the University of Toronto. Spending time with his two children is one of Dr. Lee’s favorite activities. Dr. Dahlia Robinson is an assistant professor in the School of Accountancy. She teaches undergraduate Intermediate Accounting III. Dr. Robinson has conducted research in accruals, reverse stock splits, and auditor independence policy. She earned her Ph.D. at the University of Georgia, M.S. at Pennsylvania State University, and B.Sc. and M.S. at the University of the West Indies. Dr. Sajeev Varki is an associate professor in the marketing department. He teaches Promotions Management and Global Marketing. His research and teaching interests include service marketing, principles of marketing, advertising, market research, and strategy. Dr. Varki earned his B.Tech from Indian Institute of Technology and his MBA from the Institute of Management, both in India. He earned his Ph.D. from the Owen School of Management, Vanderbilt University. Dr. Varki joins us from the University of Rhode Island. Contact him at svarki@sar.usf.edu.
 

Dr. Murat Munkin is an associate professor in the economics department. He teaches Health Economics I and Econometrics III, both of which are also his areas of specialty. Dr. Munkin earned his Ph.D. from Indiana University and taught at the University of Tennessee before joining the USF faculty. In his free time, Dr. Munkin enjoys playing soccer.
