Corporate Connections Event a Great Success

The College of Business hosted its largest Corporate Connections networking event ever on October 11, with 82 graduate business students and representatives from 30 companies spending time networking.

Students network with companies
at Corporate Connections

A career networking event exclusively for graduate business students, Corporate Connections brings the students together with alumni from graduate business programs and potential employers in the College of Business atrium. Unlike a typical career fair, at Corporate Connections, companies do not bring large corporate displays, and students do not wait in line to hand their resume to an employer.

The evening provides a more interactive and intimate atmosphere, allowing students an opportunity to really get to know the companies. The event is set up in a way to encourage participants to mix and mingle, forcing students to network as they would in a real world business situation. “Companies always enjoy the chance to make "small talk" with students and faculty. The atmosphere lends itself to more in-depth conversations that lead to further networking and possibly job offers down the road," said Megan Hendricks, director of employer relations at the College.

College of Business students find the event to be very beneficial. “This is the most useful career event at USF. I attended two Corporate Connections events and have been recommended for jobs from various recruiters. It’s a great networking tool and a must-go event if you’re a graduate business student,” said MBA student Mercy Gomez.

This is the seventh year the College has held this semiannual event.
