CALL FOR PAPERS
EMPLOYEE RESPONSIBILITIES AND RIGHTS JOURNAL
SPECIAL ISSUE
“ISSUES IN EMPLOYEE AND RETIREE BENEFITS”
Guest Editor: Cynthia F. Cohen, University of South Florida
Dramatic changes in the landscape of employee and retiree benefits have altered the nature of the social contract between employees and employers and have fundamentally changed the economic outlook for both groups. The movement away from defined benefit plans, pension plan bankruptcies, cost shifts in benefit plans, changes in prescription drug coverage, changes to and cancellation of employee and retiree health care plans sponsored by employers, and the passage of the Pension Protection Act are but a few of the catalysts for a changing environment. There are multiple perspectives that could be taken including legal, political, actuarial, economic, labor, social welfare, international, organizational justice and corporate responsibility. The purpose of the special issue is to bring new insight into the forces of change and the challenges facing both employees and employers. Theoretical, conceptual, empirical, and policy-oriented papers are welcome. Papers should be grounded in relevant literature and offer thoughtful and stimulating views that help us better understand the issues that arise from and the consequences of these important changes. Submissions which focus on international and/or cross-cultural perspectives are especially welcome.
Deadline for final submissions December 15, 2007. Papers should adhere to the “Instructions to Contributors” in the ERRJ. These can be found at:
All papers are subject to refereeing and to review and approval by the editor. Papers should be submitted in English and in MS-Word format to Dr. Cynthia Cohen email at: ccohen@coba.usf.edu. Acceptances and invitations to revise and resubmit will follow approximately three months after the submission deadline.
