Greetings from the College
of Business!
The College of Business
continues to be a formidable force in the Tampa community. At the end of last
year, the School of Accountancy's doctoral program was named the 25th best in
the nation by Public Accounting Report and the Center for
Entrepreneurship was ranked 5th in the nation by Princeton Review and Entrepreneur Magazine. These honors have contributed to our national
recognition as a top provider of quality education.
In this issue you
will find a story about a visit by Nobel Laureate Vernon Smith, who will educate
an audience of faculty, staff, and students about the cause and effects of the
current housing crisis. You'll also find news about the excellent work that our
students and alumni continue to do. A team of AMA students was selected from a
national competition to present a marketing strategy to Chevrolet, and an EMBA
team gave recommendations to TECO in a business case competition. Finance major
Brian Marks was one of a handful of students who recently graduated with a 4.0
GPA.
