The Minor in Marketing

The minor in marketing is a 12-hour program. The minor in marketing is a valuable addition to any business major. For the general business major this will allow students to be able to pursue marketing related careers that they might otherwise not be qualified.

If you are a finance major, many companies including insurance, brokerages, and the like expect graduates to be able to represent the company in a consumer driven fashion. A marketing minor will give you the vocabulary and insight to land the most desirable jobs.

Information systems graduates will find an appealing market for graduates that combine technology and marketing. These graduates will be the ones who will represent the company to the public rather than sitting in the back room.

The marketing minor consists of:

Marketing Management-MAR 3823
Professional Selling-MAR 3400
Marketing Research-MAR 3613
Promotion Management-MAR 4333

Students must achieve a grade point average of 2.0 or higher in the minor course work for certification of the minor for graduation. At least 9 hours must be taken in residence at U.S.F.
