The Student Experience
The Student Experience
Many students comment that the Practicum was the most valuable course they took in college. This course is the best way to gain relevant job experience while earning college credit.
The semester begins with workshops designed to make students stronger applicants. Resumes will be critiqued, and interviewing skills that will help you to market yourself more effectively are discussed.
Each student in the course is provided access to our database of intern sponsors. It is the student’s responsibility to send their resume to companies that they are interested in pursuing.
Once hired, a workshop is given to help each student develop five objectives for completion during the semester. These objectives must be approved by both the sponsor and the internship coordinator.
“Vitality offered me a position today! I can’t tell you how much I have learned from this semester. The Practicum should be mandatory for all courses of study!
-Terrie Uiterwyk

Additional course requirements include reviewing business literature, attending professional skills workshops, and maintaining a progress log throughout the semester.
A grade for the course is awarded based on a combination of class attendance, graded assignments, and a performance evaluation completed by the sponsor.
This course is only offered to senior level business students. A permit is required to register.
