Kaushal Chari
Professor and Chair

Kaushal Chari is a Professor and the Chair of Information Systems & Decision Sciences Department. Previously he served as the Director of Research for the College of Business Administration at the University of South Florida. He obtained a B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur, followed by an M.B.A. and Ph.D. from the University of Iowa. His research has been published in various journals including INFORMS Journal on Computing, Information Systems Research, IEEE Transactions on Software Engineering, Telecommunication Systems, Decision Support Systems, European Journal of Operational Research and the Communications of the ACM. His research interests include software engineering, business intelligence, decision support systems, information security & risk management, and distributed systems. He currently serves as the Associate Editor of MIS for Interfaces journal, and Vice Chair of the INFORMS Information Systems Society. He previously served as the Co-Chair for the Seventeenth Workshop on Information Technology & Systems (WITS) 2007, Co-Chair for the Sixth INFORMS Conference on Information Systems & Technology (CIST) 2001, and Program Co-Chair for the fourth Workshop on E-Business (WeB) 2005. Kaushal Chari currently teaches a course on distributed systems. He is a member of AIS and INFORMS.
