Scott Besley
Chair and Associate Professor

Scott Besley, who is an associate professor and chair of the Department of Finance, has been a member of the faculty at USF since 1982. He earned DBA and MBA degrees from Florida State University. His research interests are in the areas of corporate finance, including working capital management, governance, and investment anomalies. Dr. Besley has published numerous research articles in various academic journals. He is also the coauthor of two leading textbooks in corporate finance that are used at universities around the world. Dr. Besley is involved in the local community with his service as a director on the boards of the USF Federal Credit Union and the CFA of  Tampa Bay and as a member of the advisory board of the Academy of Finance of Hillsborough County and the Investment Oversight Committee of the Pinellas County School Board.
