The Economics major is a 33 hour program. There are 18 hours of required courses:
ECO 2013 Economic Principles: Macroeconomics
ECO 2023 Economic Principles: Microeconomics
ECO 3101 Intermediate Price Theory
ECO 3203 Intermediate Macroeconomics
QMB 2100 Business & Economic Statistics I
QMB 3200 Business & Economic Statistics II
The remaining 15 hours must be upper-level economics courses, with the following exception:
ECO 1000, Basic Economics, will be accepted as elective credit if taken before both ECO 2013 and ECO 2023
Students must obtain a grade of "C" or higher in ECO 3101. This grade must be earned before enrolling in any course for which ECO 3101 is a prerequisite.
ECO 3100, Managerial Economics, may be substituted for ECO 3101.
No more than three hours credit can be applied toward a major from ECO 4905 and/or ECO 4914 (Independent Study and Independent Research).
At least 12 hours of upper level courses must be taken in residence at USF.
