Andrew Makal

Andrew Makal is a senior manager in the Business Advisory Services Practice in the Tampa Bay office of Grant Thornton LLP, and has over sixteen years of management and public accounting experience. He began his accounting career with another international accounting firm as an IT Auditor and was responsible for leading, coordinating, and managing the IT audit support for all major financial audits. His experience includes information technology auditing and advisory services, Sarbanes-Oxley documentation and testing, evaluation of healthcare processes and systems, SAS 70 engagements, security and risk management, data analytics, and data forensics (including post-fraud reconstruction support). Since joining Grant Thornton, Andrew has served a broad base of organizations in a variety of industries including healthcare, insurance billing services, banking, manufacturing and distribution, and hospitality. Andrew is actively involved in the firm’s educational programs, including championing the firm’s training programs on (and use of) automated software tools in Central Florida.
