Dr. Laursen is an Associate Professor of Accounting and Law at the University of South Florida, Tampa. Florida.  He has a Master of Laws in Taxation degree and a Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Miami School of Law.  He has a Bachelor of Science degree from Florida State University with a major in Accounting, and an Associate in Arts degree from St. Petersburg College.

Dr. Laursen currently teaches Federal Income Taxation of Individuals and Property Transactions, Law and the Accountant, Estate Planning, Contemporary Issues in Taxation, and Taxation of Corporations, Partnerships, and S Corporations.  Dr. Laursen teaches Regulation in the USF CPA Review Program.  Dr. Laursen taught in the USF Executive MBA program for many years.  Dr. Laursen worked for Price Waterhouse in Miami, Florida, and currently consults in the area of Estate Planning and Taxation Law.

Dr. Laursen is the Faculty Advisor for the USF Delta Gamma Chapter of Beta Alpha Psi, the international honorary accounting organization.  He is married to Elizabeth D. Laursen, and has three adult children.
